After being lost in a limbo of commissioned-then-cancelled status, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off Marvel's Most Wanted looked likely again last year with the announcement of a pilot. Things are moving ahead with the initial show, as Delroy Lindo has been cast as comic book character Dominic Fortune.

The embryonic new series, created by S.H.I.E.L.D. show veterans Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski, will focus on the further adventures of Bobbi "Mockingbird" Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Nick Blood’s Lance Hunter, both of whom are established on the series. Dominic Fortune, meanwhile, originally appeared in Marvel Preview #2, which first hit shelves in 1975. Conceived as a rogue and adventurer in the 1930s, he's a man who craves wealth and excitement. While his storyline and origin will no doubt be updated for the series, he's sure to find plenty to fulfill his needs with the conflicted pair.

“Dominic Fortune carries with him a cunning and charm but also a dangerous edge that only Delroy could bring to life,” says Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb. "We're thrilled to have him join the show."

There's no word yet on when the Most Wanted pilot might hit screens, or whether it'll be produced to show ABC executives across the pond whether it'll work, but if it's successful, it could arrive later this year. Lindo will next be seen in the Point Break reboot, which is out on February 5.
