Tiffany will play a park ranger with unorthodox methods for protecting endangered alligators, while Gibson will be an animal rights fanatic given to releasing pet-store snakes into the Everglades, "where they grow to mega-sizes". Why? It probably doesn't really matter.
Gibson and Tiffany have both appeared in Asylum / Syfy movies before, but this will be the first time they've acted together. The idea was apparently Tiffany's, who felt like having some fun with the rivalry that the girls were supposed to have shared during their 80s MTV heyday. The script has them fighting each other in a swamp. Hicks would like this.
Mega Python vs. Gatoroid has been written by Asylum mockbuster veteran Naomi Selfman (2012 Doomsday) and will be directed by Mary Lambert (Pet Sematary). Shooting takes place next month and it'll premiere on Syfy next year.
