Given his wealth of his experience – TV experience, at least – chasing down drug dealers on Breaking Bad, it somehow seems right that Ridley Scott has recruited Dean Norris for a role in The Counsellor.
The film, which boasts a much-talked-about script by novelist-turned-surprise-screenwriter Cormac McCarthy, finds Michael Fassbender as a respected lawyer who makes an ill-fated decision to dip a toe into the drug business, figuring he can easily make some money and not get in too deep. Ah, the best laid plans…
Norris, whose actual role has not yet been announced, joins a hefty cast that includes Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
Scott has been gearing up to shoot the thing since the minute Prometheus arrived in cinemas and is now planning the start cranking the cameras this September in London.
It’s just the latest big film for reliable character actor Norris, who has split his time between playing Hank on Breaking Bad and appearing in the likes of** Get The Gringo** and How Do You Know. He’ll next crop up in The Frozen Ground alongside Nicolas Cage and John Cusack.
