With most of the younger lead cast now in place, the Guillermo del Toro developed-and-produced horror pic Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is adding more actors to its ensemble. Breaking Bad veteran Dean Norris is aboard alongside Gil Bellows and Lorraine Toussaint.
Director André Øvredal is orchestrating the scares, the film will find a group of teens looking to solve the mystery surrounding a wave of spectacularly horrific deaths in their small town. Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Austin Abrams, Gabriel Rush, Austin Zajur and Natalie Ganzhorn make up the majority of the main cast, though we don't yet know what the new recruits are playing, but you've got to figure a blend of parents and/or authority figures. Or they could be terrifying supernatural presences...
“Lorraine, Gil, and Dean are exceptionally talented actors who also happen to be game for all of the creepy madness that this film entails,” Øvredal says. “We are thrilled to have them aboard our macabre little train.”
The cameras are rolling now and the film should be on screens next year.
