The producer of Godzilla is going to direct a film. Before you run screaming for the hills, remember this: Dean Devlin is also responsible for Stargate and Independence Day. And he hasn’t just watched Roland “never met a special effect he didn’t love” Emmerich work. Devlin’s producing career also includes Eight Legged Freaks and Cellular. Um… anyway…

This will be the first time he’s been given full control of a film, and he’s picked a supernatural thriller for his debut. Ghosting follows a team of paranormal investigators who cross between the world of the living and the deceased by stopping their hearts. Think Flatliners meets NYPD Blue.

Scripted by Jessie “Eight Legged Freaks” Alexander (who has also written for Alias), the movie will start shooting early next year, once Devlin completes work on both World War One flying aces flick Flyboys and sci-fi thriller Isobar.
