The promo campaign for 20th Century Fox’s newest "hero" – if that word really applies to the guy – has gone all in on the rude humour employed by the comic book version, and brought to the screen by Ryan Reynolds. It’s on, er, full display in the new poster for Deadpool.
In case you might have forgotten, Deadpool follows Wade Wilson, a smart-mouthed mercenary who learns he has cancer. Undergoing an experimental procedure, he’s left horrifically scarred, incredibly angry and ready to unleash a little creative vengeance on the people responsible and any bad guys that cross his path. And yes, he still has his smart mouth.
With VFX man Tim Miller making his directorial debut after convincing Fox and the wider world to take a gamble on the film with a short chunk of test footage, the full-length serving of Deadpool’s dangerous wise-cracking is headed our way on February 4.
