While Disney has seen big growth in its streaming service, Disney+ (the company just announced it has more than 86 million subscribers worldwide) one big gap has been the more mature likes of Deadpool, Kingsman, Die Hard and more. It intends to plug that gap outside the US with the launch of a new Star brand.
To be available as part of Disney Plus (with a price boost to £7.99) from 23 February, it'll offer parentally controlled access to offerings from former Fox properties (AKA 20th Century Studios under the Disney merger) and material that doesn't fit into the traditional family friendly brand.
Across the pond, the same content will remain where it currently is on sister streaming service Hulu.
