So far we’ve had two unconventional trailers for Deadpool 2 — one which consisted mostly of the titular mutant wearing a Bob Ross wig and whipping around a paintbrush, and the other which explained the introduction of Cable with action figures — and now we’ve got a more conventional look at the sequel. Well, we say conventional — this is still Deadpool, so of course it has majorly inventive swearing (“fucksicle”, anyone?) and declares itself to be “from the studio that brought you 27 Dresses and The Devil Wears Prada”.
What this new clip confirms is that Deadpool 2 will see Wade Wilson form his own “super-duper-fucking group”, the X-Force, including Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Domino, and an as-yet-unnamed character played by Terry Crews.
The trailer also hints at the plot with Cable tracking down Julian Dennison’s flame-powered not-Ricky-Baker tearaway, shows off more stomach-churning violence (Deadpool getting shot through the hand and then ramming the gun through the bullet hole is a ‘highlight’), and a whole new raft of jaw-dropping insults. In short, it’s Deadpool being Deadpool. There’s only two months left to wait — Deadpool 2 is set to crash into UK cinemas on 15 May.
