Those Horrible Bosses boys must really enjoy working together. How else – except possibly for some magical curse that turns them into chickens if they get more than 20 feet from each other – do you explain that they're not only returning for the sequel, but also agreeing to appear in another movie together. Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis are anyway, and they’ve roped in Bosses director Seth Gordon for One Night On The Hudson.
Despite the title, TJ Fixman’s script is not about Ernie Hudson getting exposed to radiation, growing to enormous size and allowing Day and Sudeikis to ride around in his hair. It actually sounds more like a comedy version of 16 Blocks meets After Hours or Midnight Run. A rookie cop (we’re guessing Day) and his jaded veteran partner (Sudeikis) are tasked with transporting a Federal witness from New Jersey to Manhattan. Of course, it was never going to be a simple job, not with corrupt cops and nasty criminals in their way...
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fixman floated the script around town in 2011, but nobody bought it. Universal is now footing the bill, with Gordon calling the shots. It remains to be seen whether they fit it in before or after making Horrible Bosses 2.
Sudeikis continues to squeeze film roles around his Saturday Night Live schedule, including indie comedy Relanxious, Fox ‘toon **Epic (May 24) **and pot comedy We’re The Millers (August 23). Day has his own regular TV gig on It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, but will also be seen on the big screen in **Pacific Rim **(July 12) and heard as a voice in Pixar’s Monsters University (also July 12 over here – Dayapalooza!)
