Is your day lacking in glamour? Did you forget to apply false lashes this morning? Well fear not, because here is the trailer for Rob Marshall's **Nine, the adaptation of the stage musical starring Daniel Day-Lewis as a film director reflecting on the women in his life.

That's right, Oscar-winner Daniel Day-Lewis, no longer drinking milkshake but instead showing an unguessed-at ability to sing and dance, stars as an Italian director called Guido Contini. Fellow Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard is his wife, with Oscar-winner Judi Dench as his confidant and costume designer.

Oscar-winner Sophia Loren plays his deceased mother, Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman a glamorous movie star, Oscar-winner Penelope Cruz is his mistress, Oscar-nominee Kate Hudson is a US fashion journalist and MTV Video Music Award winner Stacy Ferguson plays a whore who Guido knew in his younger days.

Jesting aside, the film certainly looks rather gorgeous, and that song's already irritatingly firmly lodged in our skull, so we're looking forward to this. But we can't help thinking there's some award-baiting going on.

The film's based on the Tony Award-winning musical of the same name, adapted by Oscar-nominee Michael Tolkin (with input by the late Oscar-winner Anthony Minghella). And of course it's all directed by Chicago's Oscar-winning director Rob Marshall.

**Nine **is out on November 25 - right in the middle of Oscar season, funnily enough.
