Fox’s planned reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise really does seem to be gathering pace, with rumours about a likely list of directors now following on the heels of possible casting choices. So who is being considered? Try Joe Carnahan, David Yates and James McTeigue.
Comic Book Movie reports on the directors, and while we’re sure Fox is pondering just about every available director around, the three choices are all fairly different.
Yates, of course, has filled his last few years with charting the end of Harry Potter’s run at the cinema. While he’s currently busy putting the finishing touches to the second part of Deathly Hallows, he’s got effects experience and knows how to balance the right sort of tone.
Carnahan, meanwhile, has, since Narc usually stuck to crazier action fare, though The A-Team represented a slightly softer side among the madness.
And then there’s McTeigue, who made** V for Vendetta** and Ninja Assassin. He’s still planning to start making The Raven in October, but surely Fox must think he’d be available to start shooting the** Fantastic Four **film next year in 3D.
For now, everything about the film aside from the basic fact of it being in development is still a great big honking rumour. But stepping into the wild world of pure speculation, any favourites among the three?
