We learned back in February that Luke Evans would be starring in a new thriller called **Three Seconds. Since then, director Otto Bathurst has hired David Oyelowo to co-star with him.
Matt Cook and Rowan Joffé have worked on the script, adapted from the book by Swedish authors Anders Roslund and Börge Hellström. The plot will see Evans as a man forced to go undercover in a prison for an FBI sting operation. But then the bureau’s agents abandon him in the violent jail and he has no choice but to figure out a way to escape on his own. We’re going to assume it takes him a little longer than the title suggests or else it’s not going to be the most satisfying prison break movie we’ve ever seen.
Oyelowo is on board to play an anti-social New York police detective who witnesses a fellow officer being murdered and starts to unravel the entire operation. Bathurst, one of the main directors behind Peaky Blinders, should kick off shooting soon. Oyelowo, last seen in Selma and A Most Violent Year, is part of a variety of upcoming films including Nina, Captive and Five Nights In Maine. He’s currently working on Queen Of Katwe with Lupita Nyong’o and director Mira Nair.
