New John Le Carré TV adaptation The Night Manager has already recruited the likes of Tom “T.Hiddy” Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander and Elizabeth Debicki for its cast. The ensemble is growing to include David Harewood, Neil Morrissey, Katherine Kelly and Tobias Menzies.
With a script by David Farr and the shot-calling services of Susanne Bier, The Night Manager finds Hiddleston as Jonathan Pine, a former soldier who now works as a night manager in a luxury hotel.
When he crosses paths with a French-Arab woman named Sophie, who is linked to infamous English weapons merchant Richard Onslow Roper (Laurie), he comes into possession of some incriminating documents and sends them to a friend in the intelligence services. But then Sophie is murdered, and Pine is tasked by an operative (Colman) to go undercover as a part of a sting operative to take Roper and associates such as Corcoran (Hollander) down.
None of the newly announced cast members’ roles have been announced yet, but they’ll be shooting this year ready for broadcast at some point in 2016 on the Beeb over here and cable channel AMC in the States.
