Having found success with his Halloween follow-up movie (two sequels are on their way in the next couple of years), David Gordon Green is now taking aim at another horror classic. According to The Observer, he's reportedly making a deal with the Blumhouse team to craft a new sequel for The Exorcist.

Few details are available at this point, nor do we know whether it'll follow the Halloween plan and wipe the slate clean of sequels (three sequels and a prequel have followed in the years since the 1973 landmark). William Friedkin's original scored a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for author William Peter Blatty and 10 nominations total, including Best Picture.

Production company Morgan Creek was reported as developing a reboot in August, with Friedkin taking to twitter to deny his involvement. It'll be interesting to see what Green has planned.
