With his** Gone Girl **lead pair locked down thanks to casting Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, David Fincher has been getting creative to fill out the supporting players. Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit and Carrie Coon are all now aboard.

Adapted from Gillian Flynn's mystery, Gone Girl finds Pike and Affleck as Amy and Nick Dunne, a seemingly happy married couple celebrating their fifth anniversary. But when Amy vanishes and the suspicion for her disappearance and potential murder falls on Nick, a web of lies, half-truths and different perceptions is unravelled.

Harris, still better known for comedy on the big screen (but a proven dramatic thesp on the stage) is set to play Desi Collings, Amy’s one-time boyfriend who may still carry a torch for her. Dickens and Fugit are the detectives investigating the case, who try to figure out what really happened. Coon is set as Nick’s twin sister Margo, the bartender at a local watering hole.

Perry has scored the role of Tanner Bolt, the flamboyant, aggressive attorney who represents Nick when things turn sour. According to Deadline, Fincher decided to reach out to Perry after seeing him in Alex Cross, though having seen that one ourselves, we have to wonder why…

Fincher is gearing up to kick off shooting this month, so we’ll be on the look out for more casting as he gets underway.
