Dave Bautista has already carved a healthy niche out for himself in the sci-fi realm thanks to the likes of Drax in the MCU, his role in Blade Runner 2049 and Hotel Artemis. He's targeting it again for a slightly less intense project, Universe's Most Wanted.
Rampage director Brad Peyton will oversee the new film, which focuses on a small town that sees a space ship carrying the universe’s most wanted and dangerous criminals land in their backyard. The sheriff’s son soon becomes a hero as he works with an intergalactic peacekeeper (Bautista) to round up the alien prisoners and keep them from taking over the world. F. Scott Frazier and Jimmy Loweree wrote the script, which Peyton will start shooting in the spring next year.
"We couldn’t be more thrilled to get going on Universe’s Most Wanted," Peyton says in a statement. "This is the type of fun, mysterious and irreverent adventure we all need right now."
As for Bautista, he's part of the sprawling Dune cast, with that film due next October, and will also be seen in Zack Snyder's zombie pic Army Of The Dead.
