After forging ahead with roles in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Spectre and the upcoming Blade Runner 2049, Dave Bautista joining the action sequel to a less-than-impressive 2013 Sylvester Stallone movie seems like a step back. Still, he's going for it, jumping aboard Escape Plan 2.

Stallone is back to star in the film, which currently has its plot line locked away in solitary. But given the premise of the original (prison security specialist is framed and sent to one of his own seemingly impenetrable facilities, necessitating a team-up with another man to survive and get out), we can likely expect more prison madness. Unless Sly's Ray Breslin has decided to switch careers, and the film finds him having to defend his new dessert-creating business from cunning and lethal pie-makers. Our pitch? Escape Plan 2: Escape Flan.

Whatever happens, Steven C. Miller will direct the movie, which will start shooting in Atlanta in the months to come.

Bautista is back as Drax in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 (out in the UK on 28 April), which also features Sly in an unknown capacity, followed by the Blade Runner sequel on 6 October. And he's already been in Atlanta, adding Drax to Avengers: Infinity War, which we can expect on 27 April next year.
