It seems only weeks ago that we first experienced Episode II on the big screen but, lo and behold, the DVD and video releases of the film have just been announced and the wait will be very short indeed. Just six months after the film's theatrical release, Attack of The Clones will be available to buy on video and DVD on 11 November, a full day before the US release. Lucasfilm, bless their little cotton socks, have clearly taken pity on their legions of fans - doubtless also keeping an eye on the rapid proliferation of bootleg discs - and has fast-tracked the home version so we can all feel the force in the comfort of our own homes. That's not to say this is a rush job either, the DVD will be a two-disc release featuring a commentary from Lucas, Producer Rick McCallum, sound designer Ben Burtt and some of those clever folks from ILM. But that's not all, the second disc will feature more than six hours of additional material, including eight deleted scenes, three featurettes, the 12-part documentary that ran on the Star Wars website, theatrical trailers, TV spots, the R2-D2: Beneath The Dome mockumentary trailer, a visual effects breakdown montage, an exclusive photo gallery and John Williams' Across The Stars music video. If you're one of the five people who still buy VHS then don't worry because you won't be left out either. The video release will include the deleted scenes and a Star Wars Connections featurette hosted by R2-D2 and C-3PO. Clap if you love Geore Lucas.
