The team behind the wonderful The Foot Fist Way – that would be Jody Hill and Danny McBride – are back together for a new action comedy called L.A.P.I.
Yes, though they took a cinematic break from each other for **Observe & Report **(McBride had a cameo, but Seth Rogen was the star), the pair has continued to work together on the likes of TV show Eastbound & Down. And now they’re back for the first production from Rough House Pictures, the company they formed with director David Gordon Green (who's working with McBride on medieval/fantasy/comedy Your Highness).
Little is known about the plot of the new film, which Hill will direct and McBride will star in, but we know he'll play a beaten-down, hardboiled gumshoe working the streets of the City of Angels.
And it didn’t originate with the director or star either, though we’re betting they’ll write plenty of material. The script is originally by Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan, who saw their work hit the “blacklist” of favourite unproduced scripts in Hollywood at the end of last year.
