With Sam Raimi now at work on MCU sequel Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, he's bringing aboard a regular collaborator. Danny Elfman, who has scored Raimi movies including Darkman and the first couple of Spider-Man entries, will write the music for his new gig.
In fact, it sounds like he's already at work: "I am starting to do bits of pre-work for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi's directing," Elfman tells Inverse. "Even though I don't start it for some months, there's bits of recorded music they need for the sets."
While Marvel is naturally looking to keep as many details quiet as possible about the new film, we do know it'll connect to WandaVision, especially given Elizabeth Olsen's presence as Wanda Maximoff in the cast. Returning faces for this Strange corner of the MCU? Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Mordo and Rachel McAdams as Dr. Christine Palmer. Xochitl Gomez, meanwhile, will play America Chavez.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is still scheduled to arrive in March 2022, though we'll see if lockdown-related production delays necessitate a shift on that front.
