Daniel Radcliffe clearly had a blast making Kill Your Darlings (he said as much on our Podcast, which you can find lurking at the bottom of the page). So it makes sense that he’d be seriously considering a reunion with director John Krokidas and co-star Dane DeHaan for **College Republicans.

If it all comes together – and various representatives have denied that it’s a done deal to The Wrap – the film would see Radcliffe and DeHaan playing the young Lee Atwater and Karl Rove long before they became powerbrokers in American politics.

It would also represent a resurgent level of interest in Wes Jones’ script, which hit the Black List back in 2010 and later attracted the interest of Richard Linklater and Paul Dano as director and star, but then went quiet.

The story is based on real events from the 1970s and follows Rove (DeHaan) as he runs a dirty campaign for national College Republican Chairman under the tutelage of Atwater (Radcliffe). Their campaign includes a wild road trip intended to drum up support. Despite all the political machinations, however, the focus is really on the friendship between the two, and that's something that Radcliffe and DeHaan could do a lot with.
