Nelson Mandela might be the most famous person from the ANC to deal with the psychological rigours of imprisonment, but he was released. The story of Tim Jenkin, a member of the same cause who was also sent to jail, sees him attempting escape. And now the story is told in Escape From Pretoria, a thriller starring Daniel Radcliffe. Check out our exclusive image above and a new trailer debuting right here.

Sent to the maximum security facility Pretoria in the 1970s for their anti-Apartheid activities, Jenkin and fellow ANC detainees Stephen Lee (Daniel Webber) and Denis Goldberg (Ian Hart) plot their escape. A daring plan is hatched, one that relies on ingenuity, craft and not a little luck.

Today, 11 December 2019 marks the 40th anniversary of the escape, which makes the trailer all that more timely. Director Francis Annan adapts Jenkin's book Inside Out: Escape From Pretoria Prison and the film will be out in the UK on 6 March.
