Buffeted by delays and director/writer changes, the 25th official Bond film suffered another blow earlier this month when Daniel Craig slipped and fell while shooting in Jamaica and injured his ankle. After worries that it would seriously impact the filming schedule, the official Bond Twitter account has clarified the situation.
Turns out that Craig will be undergoing minor surgery on his injured ankle and will require two weeks rehabilitation following the procedure. But thanks to the expansive nature of the production, led by director Cary Fukunaga, the work can continue in his absence.
And that also means that the movie is still on track to meet its current release date, with a 3 April 2020 slot set for the UK, US audiences having to wait until 8 April.
The cast for this one also includes returning players Jeffrey Wright, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes, plus franchise newcomers Rami Malek, Ana de Armas and Lashana Lynch.
