Comedian Dane cook has slowly but surely been edging his way into the film business. He’s already finished work on geek comedy Employee Of The Month alongside Jessica Simpson and earlier this week, spilled ink on a deal to play Kevin Costner’s loopy sidekick in split-personality thriller Mr Brooks.
And now he’s also turning his attention to the script side of life. He’s sold a pitch titled Dad Knap to Disney. In the film, he’ll play a bloke who kidnaps his own father so that he can reclaim all the quality parenting time he feels he’s missed out on. Cook and the studio are now on the hunt for a writer to adapt the script. You might expect Cook to do it himself, but the man has to sleep some time.
