Building on the launch pad that Downton Abbey gave him, Dan Stevens is looking to ignite his film career. He’s in talks to co-star alongside Liam Neeson for Scott Frank’s new thriller, A Walk Among The Tombstones.
Neeson is starring as a former NYPD officer who now works as a private investigator. When he’s hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer, he discovers that this isn’t the first time the perpetrators have pulled off this kind of crime – and all of their previous targets have ended up dead. Can he save this one?
Stevens’ role hasn’t been announced, though it’s possible he’s playing the drug dealer with the missing missus - which would certainly be a change from his Downton casting. This would be just his latest film gig, as he’s already cropped up in Amy Heckerling’s little-seen comedy Vamps and is at work on Julian Assange drama The Fifth Estate with Benedict Cumberbatch, a blond wig and Daniel Bruhl. If Stevens signs for Tombstones, he’ll kick off shooting that one next month.
