When Anne Hathaway appeared on the Empire Podcasta few weeks ago, she made mention of the unusual monster movie Colossal she’s just started shooting. There’s even more reason to get excited about the film, as Dan Stevens has joined the cast{ =nofollow}.

Hathaway stars as a young woman down on her luck after losing her job and being dumped by her boyfriend in New York. Deciding to cut her losses, she moves back to her hometown, only to learn that she has a weird connection to a giant creature that has materialized over Seoul and is starting to destroy the city. It really does sound like a Godzilla film written by someone on powerful narcotics, but we can’t wait to see it. Nacho Vigalondo is the man responsible for the script and who is calling the shots now in Vancouver.

Stevens will be the aforementioned boyfriend, who realises he wants her back, and he’s in the ensemble alongside Jason Sudeikis, Tim Blake Nelson and Austin Stowell. He’s part of the cast of thrillers Criminal Activities and The Ticket and is playing the Beast in Beauty And The Beast, which doesn’t arrive until March 17, 2017.
