The cast for Harry Potter spin-off** Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them** continues to grow. After a search that has seen the likes of John Krasinski, Michael Cera and Josh Gad taking meetings, Dan Fogler has won the role of Jacob.
Potter director David Yates is launching what Warner Bros. already plans as a new trilogy, adapted by J.K. Rowling herself from her book. Eddie Redmayne is starring as Newt Scamander, who plies his trade as a magizoologist around the world, and visits New York in the first adventure. The story takes place roughly 70 years before Harry and the rest have their tangle with the dark forces of Voldemort.
Fogler is on to play a role that had previously been described as a rival to Scamander, though Deadline’s report has him as a muggle who befriends our hero (we suppose he could always turn out to be a problem). He joins a cast that – assuming all of their deals work out – includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Ezra Miller. Yates is aiming for a November 18 release date next year.
