Right about now is a good time to be Dan Fogelman's Mr. 10%.

For the American screenwriter has just banked a one million dollar deal from newly-formed mini-studio CBS Films, after he pitched them an untitled comedy in which four semi-retired baby boomers go to Las Vegas.

Now, as far as we can tell, that synopsis is a hair’s breadth away from being Wild Hogs 2, so Fogelman must have given one hell of a pitch. We will admit, though, that a) we’re hugely jealous and b) the script itself may well be a belter, so it’s too early to judge. Way too early. Of course, this is the internet, so that won’t stop us.

Anyway, Fogelman’s track record inspires confidence and dismay in equal measure – he was a writer on Pixar’s underrated Cars (yes, underrated; you read that right), but then went and spoiled it all by writing Fred Claus. So it's hard to tell how this one is going to turn out.

Still, hats off to him. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to dust down the script for Touching Cloth, in which Pete Postlethwaite battles terrorists on the 9.48am from Leeds to Manchester, all while busting for a poo. We're hoping to flog it to CBS for £85 and all the Mars Delights we can eat.
