Damon Wayans has been cast in the role of Roger ("I'm gettin' too old for this....") Murtaugh in the FOX TV pilot adaptation of the Lethal Weapon film franchise.

The pilot, to be directed by McG and written by Forever creator Matt Miller, is expected to pretty much follow the format of the original 1987 film directed by Richard Donner and written by Shane Black. In the show, Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs (played by Mel Gibson in the film, still to be cast for the pilot), suffers the loss of his wife and baby and ends up moving to Los Angeles with the hopes of starting anew. It's only a matter of time before he's partnered with Murtaugh (Danny Glover in the film), who recently suffered what was described as a "minor heart attack," and must avoid any stress in his life. Needless to say, here comes stress in the form of Riggs.
