Though you might think his time would be taken up entirely adapting Watchmen for HBO, Damon Lindelof has nevertheless found space in his schedule to co-write and seal a deal with Blumhouse for a new action thriller movie called The Hunt.
Lindelof wrote this one with Nick Cuse, son of his old Lost collaborator Carlton Cuse, with the younger man working his way up the ranks of Lindelof's previous HBO show, The Leftovers. Details are thin on the ground at this point, but The Hollywood Reporter has heard that it'll subversively channel the current political climate in America and the aggressive discourse of right versus left, ramping it up to an even more violent level.
It's perhaps not surprising that the Blumhouse and its studio partner Universal would snap this one up, as they've seen success with the likes of the Purge movies and Get Out. Compliance director Craig Zobel (who handled episodes of The Leftovers) is also part of the team and we'd expect this one to hit the ground running.
