Despite Nicholas Brody's fate, Damian Lewis clearly enjoys working with US cable network Showtime, because he’s jumped right back into another project for the company, signing on to co-star in Billions with Paul Giamatti.

Originated by writer/producers Brian Koppelman, David Levien and Andrew Ross Sorkin, Billions aims to take a deep, forensic look at the poisonous world of high finance, using the approaching clash between two powerful figures.

Giamatti will be driven, smart US Attorney Chuck Rhodes, who targets ambitious, brilliant hedge-fund expert Bobby “Axe” Axelrod, played by Lewis. The idea of those two going at each other is certainly an appealing proposition, so hopefully this one will make it past the pilot. Divergent’s Neil Burger is on board to shoot that crucial first episode.

Lewis has recently worked on Werner Herzog’s Queen Of The Desert and the Horrible Histories team’s new Shakespeare film Bill. He’s also part of the cast for John le Carré adaptation Our Kind Of Traitor. Giamatti has ‘toon film** The Little Prince** going through post-production and is playing Jerry Heller in NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton.
