Having won praise for adapting The Wife, screenwriter Jane Anderson is taking the director's chair for her next film, Women In The Castle. And she's scored a top cast for the drama, with Daisy Ridley, Kristin Scott Thomas and Nina Hoss involved.
Anderson has adapted Jessica Shattuck's 2017 tome, which follows three women who become widows after their husbands perish in an attempt to assassinate Hitler during World War II. The story will chart how they cope with the fallout of their personal lives.
Shattuck's book has fictional characters, but the half-German writer drew on historical accounts and stories from her own family for the tale.
Ridley will next be seen in Chaos Walking, which should finally arrive next year. Scott Thomas has Ben Wheatley's Rebecca headed our way next month, while Hoss will be seen in My Little Sister and TV series Shadowplay.
