With her stint in Star Wars now behind her, Daisy Ridley can start to plan the next phase of her career. She's now in negotiations to star in crime thriller The Ice Beneath Her.
STX snapped up the rights to the concept, which adapts Camilla Grebe's 2015 bestseller, which has drawn comparisons to Gone Girl. The story revolves around a detective and psychological profiler who work to solve the case after a young woman is found beheaded in the home of a prominent businessman. The investigation quickly evolves into a race against time.
Ready Or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are aboard to make the film alongside their Radio Silence collective colleague Chad Villella, while Supergirl's Caitlin Parrish is on to write the script.
Ridley was last seen as Rey in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (which is about to hit Disney+ on Monday next week) and is a lead in Chaos Walking, which has been beset by script issues and re-writes, but it currently scheduled to land in January 2021.
