There was the briefest glimpse at Derek Jr. – spawn of male model Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and journalist wife Matilda (Christine Taylor) at the end of 2001’s Zoolander. Now, with the sequel’s shoot underway, Stiller has posted the first look at his character’s now-teenage child via Instagram, played by Cyrus Arnold.

Zoolander 2 is set roughly 14 years after the original, and finds Derek and best pal Hansel (Owen Wilson) trying to deal with a world that has seemingly moved on past them. Their lives have changed – not always for the better – and they’re not best pleased.

Stiller is once more directing, working from a script by Justin Theroux. The film has been shooting in Rome and features the return of Wilson, Taylor and (reportedly) Will Ferrell’s Mugatu, while also introducing characters played by Kristen Wiig and Penelope Cruz. Zoolander 2 is targeting a February 12, 2016 release.

Arnold has worked on shows such as the Netflix revival of Richie Rich and the TV sitcom adaptation of About A Boy. He’s part of the cast for Hardcore (about a cyborg, not a porn shoot) and was voicing a role in DreamWorks Animations’ B.O.O.: Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations, although that has vanished back into development limbo for the time being.
