Cusack Goes Atomic

John Cusack will produce and star in a movie adaptation of the cult novel Cosmic Banditos. The book, by A.C Weisbecker, is about a group of Colombian drug smugglers who find their circumstances altered thanks to quantum physics. Cusack will play the only American involved in the drugs operation. He called the project "really original", and said "it deals with quantum mechanics in a gonzo, gung-ho sort of way". The screenplay is by Abbe Wool and Jimmy Fishman, who is a former physicist. Fishman described the film as being about men "whose chaotic and random lives are suddenly giving meaning by the laws of subatomic physics."
