New Line’s adaptation of Jack Greenberg’s memoir Crusaders In The Courts, which chronicles the landmark 1954 Brown Vs Board of Education case, has a new director and writer.
Crusaders, the previously announced film that charts how the case helped end racial segregation in US schools, will star Terrence Howard and Topher Grace. But while Brad Silberling had been lined up to direct, he’s now jumped out of the big chair. Alex Graves, a man best known for directing episodes of The West Wing and Boston Public will replace him.
Paul Redford and Lawrence O’Donnell, who were West Wing staff writers, penned the first drafts of the script. But now John Romano, who had story credit on Coen comedy Intolerable Cruelty, has been brought in to re-write.
