Cruise And Cruz Split

Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz have split, it has been announced, and gossip columnists the world over are in a feeding frenzy. However, the trail is more than a little cold as, according to Cruise's sister and publicist, Lee Anne DeVette, the pair called it quits way back in January. Cruise and Cruz were seen arm in arm in Leicester Square earlier that very month at the UK premiere for The Last Samurai but apparently ended their three-year relationship shortly after. The official line is that the pair's busy filming schedules kept them apart so much that maintaining a relationship became untenable and that they remain 'good friends'. The rumour mill is practically in meltdown as Cruise's beliefs as a Scientologist and suspicions as to the couple's sexuality are bandied about as possible causes. Of course it's always possible that things 'just didn't work out' and no gay wrestlers, hybrid alien babies, or Satanic death cults are involved. Now there's a controversial thought.
