Here in London on a two-day jaunt to promote his latest movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon which previews tonight (6 November 2000) at the London Film Festival, Ang Lee freed up some time to talk to Empire Online about his current projects. Dampening rumours that he would make The Berlin War Diaries his next project, Lee seems much more excited about capitalising on the success of Crouching Tiger with festival audiences and told us that he's hoping to film another section of the epic story. 'It's become tempting to me... It's at the talk stage,' Lee went on to explain. 'We're choosing writers to work on drafts and then see if I finally do it.' The prequel story would look at how Chow Yun Fat's character and Michelle Yeoh meet and the circumstances under which they join the Giang Hu society. According to Lee, Both Yun-Fat and Michelle are keen to be involved in the prequel, if it happens; 'They want to do it, but I have to decide how young they are,' says Lee. 'It's a good episode. It has the similar ingredients to this one - romance, action, loyalty - it's a moralty tale.'
