It’s a big day for release dates, so keep your 2014/15 diary to hand. First up, Guillermo del Toro’s haunted house flick Crimson Peak has scored an October 16, 2015 release date. Thatlines it up perfectly to sneak up on Halloween and shout “Boo!” in its ear very, very loudly.
Crimson Peak is the first of several Legendary/Universal co-productions to get a slot in the schedule. Another, As Above, So Below, is **Quarantine **man John Erick Dowdle’s found-footage thriller - yes, they are still making them – and that one will be with us on August 15, 2014.
The studios' partnership deal, signed by Legendary boss man Thomas Toll and Universal COO Ron Meyer last year{
A cappella and Elizabeth Banks fans should ring-fence May 15, 2015 when Universal’s Pitch Perfect 2 – one of its non-Legendary productions – makes its bow. Meanwhile, Liam Neeson’s A Walk Among The Tombstones will get a September 19 release this year; **Ouija **will be wobbling our collies on October 24, 2014; and **Everest will get **scaled on February 27, 2015.

**Back on Crimson Peak, del Toro is getting busy with pre-production in Toronto and promises a kinda-homage to classic horrors like The Haunting and Jack Clayton’s The Innocents. “I’ve always tried to make big-sized horror movies like the ones I grew up watching,” he told Deadline when Peak was first announced. “I think people are getting used to horror subjects done as found footage or B-value budgets. I wanted this to feel like a throwback.”
Joining him on the **Peak **are Tom Hiddleston, Pacific Rim’s Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska.
