Tessa Thompson is ready to follow her Creed director Ryan Coogler into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not directly – he's working on Black Panther and she has just landed a role in Thor: Ragnarok.
So it looks like Thompson will bear witness to (and may be part of) more fighting, except this time it will be in Asgard, or wherever else the story takes Thor (Chris Hemsworth) this time. Not much is known about the details yet, though What We Do In The Shadows' Taika Waiti is in the director's chair, working from a script that has recently seen work from Stephany Folsom.
What we do know is that the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will make his way to Thor's domain this time and we can expect a huge threat that will forever change things round Asgard way. Cate Blanchett is in talks for a role, while Jaimie Alexander's Lady Sif and Tom Hiddleston's Loki will naturally be back in some capacity. One person who reportedly is not returning? Natalie Portman, with Thompson apparently taking on the female lead in the movie.
Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on October 27, 2017. Thompson will also be seen in John Michael McDonagh's War On Everyone and recently scored a role in Alex Garland's Annihilation. Which, by a quirk of coincidence, stars... Natalie Portman.
