Yesterday it was the turn of the first poster for Creed II and today, as promised, brings the arrival of the trailer. Michael B. Jordan steps back into the ring for our first proper look at the sequel.
The new movie finds Jordan's Adonis Creed embracing his destiny as a boxer. With Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) by his side as his trainer, Adonis must balance personal obligations (especially to Tessa Thompson's Bianca and the child they've had together since we last saw them) and training, and this time finds himself plunged into a clash that has major resonance for his family. No matter where you go, you can't escape your history.
And, much as the first film saw Adonis struggling with the legacy of his late father, the new one finds him confronting it even more directly, going up against the son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren, who will show up to train his screen spawn), the man responsible for Apollo Creed's demise.
Phylicia Rashad, Wood Harris and Andre Ward are all returning, while Viktor Drago is played by Florian "The Big Nasty" Munteanu. Steven Caple Jr. takes over directing chores from Ryan Coogler, who is an executive producer on the movie.
Creed II is out in the States on 21 November before heading over here on 30 November.
