The continuing story of Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) and the successful extension of the Rocky franchise into interesting new territory is set to continue. MGM has hired writer Zach Baylin to start work on a script for the third film.
Naturally, the plot is still a mystery, though we'd expect to see more from Jordan's boxing champ, Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Balboa and Tessa Thompson's Bianca. The first film was written and directed by Ryan Coogler, while Steven Caple Jr. took over directorial chores for 2018's sequel, working from a script by Juel Taylor and Stallone.
Creed 3 is now in the early stages of development, and while this latest news is a forward step, it'll likely have to wait until Jordan is finished with several projects before it can shoot, and doesn't yet have a release date. Baylin hit the news radar when his script King Richard, about the father of tennis champs Venus and Serena Williams caught the eye of Warner Bros, and is shooting now with Will Smith in the lead as Richard Williams.
