Michael B Jordan might need to amp things up in the gym for Creed II – a genuine man mountain has been cast for Adonis Creed to face in the latest Rocky film.
Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that the son of Ivan Drago, Dolph Lundgren’s iconic Rocky IV baddie, will be involved in the sequel, with 27 year-old boxer Florian Munteanu stepping into the ring to play him.
Munteanu has only one short film credit so far, but is certainly well qualified in other areas: a post on Stallone’s Instagram feed reveals that the ludicrously buff boxer weighs in at a gigantic 245 pounds. He’s also, amusingly, nicknamed ‘Big Nasty’ – which could be an indication of the role Drago’s son will have in the film.
With Ivan Drago responsible – spoiler alert – for killing Apollo Creed in the ring in Rocky IV, it’s expected that Jordan’s Adonis could go toe-to-toe with Drago's progeny in the highly-anticipated sequel.
Creed II is due to arrive in late 2018, with Steven Caple Jr taking over directorial duties from Ryan Coogler. Dolph Lundgren will reprise the role of Ivan Drago, with Sly Stallone also returning as Rocky Balboa.
