It's a busy old time for Henry Golding. On the back of his appearance in Crazy Rich Asians, he's been scoring several jobs. He's now in talks to play silent ninja commando Snake Eyes in the G.I. Joe spin-off film.
Robert Schwentke is on to direct the film with Evan Spiliotopoulos providing the script. It'll be interesting to see how they treat the character, since his trademark is that he never reveals his face and doesn't speak. We'd have to guess that with Golding now circling the lead, the new film will not only have his face on screen, but have him actually saying something. And also? Surely blood-brother-turned-nemesis Storm Shadow will play a part.
Paramount and Hasbro have been looking at ways to do more with the Joe franchise, including yet another reboot of the main team in development.
As for Golding, he's reunited with his A Simple Favour director Paul Feig for Last Christmas (which just put its first trailer out) and will appear in Guy Ritchie's The Gentleman, out next year.
