Craig T. Nelson Gets Hard

It’s no disrespect to Craig T. Nelson to call him one of our favourites from the that-guy-from-that-thing fraternity. He’s played Marines, sports coaches, cops, doctors and judges, not to mention a superhero in The Incredibles' Mr. Incredible. According to The Hollywood Reporter{ =nofollow}, the latest thing he’ll be that-guying in is Will Ferrell / Kevin Hart comedy Get Hard.

Despite a title that seems designed to pack cinemas with thousands of Sid Jameses, Get Hard is an odd-couple pre-prison caper that sees Ferrell nerdy investment bank manager calling on Kevin Hart’s streetwise joe to toughen him up before a stretch in prison. The twist? Ferrell is totally innocent and, presumably, not all that good at fighting.

According to the trade title, Nelson will play Ferrell’s boss at Barrow Funds and the dad of his fiancée.

It’s Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen’s first stab at directing and he’s shooting a script written by newbie scribes Ian Roberts and Jay Martel. Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing under their Gary Sanchez shingle, the company that brought us Anchorman 2, The Other Guys and Step Brothers.

Warner Bros. has this one scheduled for US launch on March 27, 2015.
