Heartbreakers, which stars Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt as mother and daughter con-artists, has topped the US box office. Directed by David Mirkin (Romy and Michele's High School Reunion), the comedy sees Sigourney and Jennifer wearing very little clothing while scamming gullible men, including the likes of Gene Hackman, Ray Liotta and Jason Lee. Although it won't break any records with its $12.3 million opening weekend, Heartbreakers still saw off the competition. Chief among its box office rivals was the romantic comedy The Brothers, which stars Bill Bellamy and Gabrielle Union. That made it to number two, with $10.7 million. But the Farrelly brothers' latest, Say It Isn't So, singularly failed to set the charts alight, only managing 10th place. The flick features Heather Graham and Chris Klein as lovers who might also be long-lost brother and sister. Perhaps due to this delightful subject matter, it only took $3.1 million.
