You might expect a film titled Space 3001 to be adapted from Arthur C Clarke’s franchise-spinning novel of the same name, which defrosts astronaut Frank Poole from 2001 and finds the world much changed following a millennium of contact with the monolith.
But nope, with Roger Corman producing and a $20 million budget, we’re going to guess that it likely won’t follow on from 2010.
Corman himself isn’t revealing the details, except to say that he intends to shoot the movie at his Irish studios. You’ve got to love tax breaks…
