After a blink-and-you-could-miss-him role in Now You See Me, Common looks set to get a little more screen time next time out. He’s locked down a deal to join the cast of Liam Neeson and Jaume Collet-Serra’s latest action collaboration, Run All Night.

Neeson is once more donning his special tough guy trousers to play an aging hit man who decides to get out of the killing business. As you might expect, given how that usually goes for cinematic killers, it’s not going to be an easy task.

That's particularly the case when he discovers he’ll have to take on his brutal former boss (Ed Harris) with the life of his son (Joel Kinnaman) and family under threat. To add an extra wrinkle, sonny boy is not exactly on good terms with his dad, so there’ll be a little squabbling in amongst the shooting.

Common is set as one of Harris’ recent protégés, a cold, calculating killer with zero morals and an itchy trigger finger.

Serra is now preparing to shoot the film, working from Brad Ingelsby’s script. He and Neeson already have air marshal action thriller Non-Stop headed through post-production and taking aim at February 28 release here.
