Given their respective huge ratings status around the world, both The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead have become regulars in Comic-Con's giant Hall H. This year was no different, with the two shows appearing back to back and bringing new trailers showcasing future episodes. Find Fear's example below and the original show's Season 8 tease lower down the page.

For Fear, the panel was mostly a lighthearted discussion of various topics, including the sheer number of Brits (and Aussie Alycia Debnam-Carey) dotting the cast, and there was talk from Kim Dickens about how Madison's rough past enhances her survival skills and determination.

Asked whether the prequel series and the main Dead show will ever see a crossover, Robert Kirkman initially jokingly teased a magic phone between Daryl Dixon and the Fear cast, but then admitted that it's something they'd like to try, if it's ever feasible. But without the magic phone bit...

As for the original series, The Walking Dead had a more sombre tone, eschewing the hosting services of Chris Hardwick and with executive producer Scott Gimple paying tribute to stuntman John Bernecker, who died on set recently. “John was a stunt performer. You’ve probably seen his work before, you just didn’t know it. He’s been in everything from Looper, to This Is the End, to Hunger Games, 22 Jump Street to Get Out to Logan. He did some work on Black Panther and he’s going to be on our show,” Gimple said.

“John passed away this week after he was injured doing something he loved, helping tell stories that excite, entertain and give people escape,” he continued. “He helped make movies and shows for people like everybody in this room. John was someone who was beloved in the stunt community, someone who trained other people and he was living the dream and he helped other people do the same thing.”

Following the tribute – and fellow producer/director Greg Nicotero offering his own memory of working with zombie legend George A. Romero, who also passed within the last few days, there was a chance for some levity. The panel answered fan questions on all sorts of subjects, including the trials and tribulations of working in the heat of Atlanta and what nickname Daryl should give Maggie and Glenn's baby.

Also on tap? Memories from the early days as part of the show's 100 episode celebration. Oh, and more mockery of how Andrew Lincoln says "Carl". Watch the trailer for the next season below.
