The current torrent of information and imagery for X-Men: Days Of Future Past shows no sign of abating, with all signs pointing to something big at the film’s Comic-Con panel on Saturday. The last few days have already brought a look at the robotic Sentinels and information on their creator, Bolivar Trask, and that has been followed up by a look at some of the mutant stars in their slightly fetishistic new togs for the film. Have a look at the gallery below.
Most intriguing here (since we know what Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier, Daniel Cudmore’s Colossus and Ian McKellen’s Magneto are supposed to look like), are the new images of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine looking a little worse for wear – and, even more shockingly, older – along with the first look at Omar Sy’s Bishop, who has the hair and the scarring well known to comic readers.
The darker uniforms (and Wolverine’s rugged look) point to the film’s storyline about a dark alternate future where Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage, who everyone pretty much now knows is playing) and humanity in general begin hunting down and rounding up or killing mutants. Our heroes will need some nifty time-space continuum-bending to avoid their terrible fate, and the resources of not only the cast of the original X-trilogy but also their younger, First Class selves.
McKellen, Stewart, Jackman, Cudmore and Sy are joined in this one by Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Fan Bingbing, and Anna Paquin. **X-Men: Days Of Future Past **is out on July 17 next year.
